It is difficult to define the exact areas of studies that are covered under Arts and Humanities. There are various disciplines ranging from Literature to Performing Arts that are studied under the domain called Arts and Humanities. History and Civilization were considered as the main areas of focus under Arts and Humanities in the earlier education system. As the research and development in these areas progressed, the subject spread its hands to more advanced areas of study such as Archeology, Linguistics, etc. Later Literature was included and so was philosophy. With the advent of many other arts and entertainment forms, Arts and Humanities expanded to the latest form to include various forms of visual arts, mainly intended as form of entertainment. This include painting, arts and crafts, photography, printing, screen productions, multimedia, digital designing, animations, theatre arts, etc. Various forms of designing, such as fashion designing, textile designing, interior designing, etc., are also known under the category Arts and Humanities. Music and dance are included in the category of Performing Arts. Communication media such as television and internet have helped these art forms achieve new heights and popularity owing to their reach worldwide. The latest technological developments have created sensation among the young artists to pursue the latest trends in the art forms. They include digital printing, computer graphic art, multimedia animation, etc. Computer-aided designing is a prospective career for many young artists today. In short, Arts and Humanities does not have any boundaries. As the world progresses, more and more subjects are added to this field of education.
